Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
As an active and faith-filled parishioner, you are aware of the many blessings we have to be grateful for at San Roque. As Catholics, we are continually called to give thanks for and find ways to return and spread the blessings we have received.
Archbishop Gomez has called each parish in the Archdiocese to participate in Called to Renew. This campaign is an opportunity for a renewal of our resources, spirituality, and sense of mission. This historic campaign will provide much-needed funding for parishes, including ours, and the ongoing mission of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $540,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal.
Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page, including one very exciting and unexpected opportunity.
I invite you to prayerfully consider how you can most generously respond to and support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will give us the best opportunity to reach our goal and help us both continue the ministry and mission of our parish in the present and step forward into the future.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)
We have identified space for a 900-square-foot Accessory Dwelling Unit that will be used as a multi-purpose space for our parish. This wonderful addition to our campus would benefit our community for years to come, providing our ministry groups with a more comfortable place to gather and giving our parish the ability to host more events.
Church Furnace Upgrades
We will replace all the original church furnaces at the same time. The heating system is outdated, and the church is often too cold in the winter. Installing new furnaces will make our worship experience more comfortable year-round.
Rectory Renovations
The rectory serves as our administrative center, and is also where our pastor and parish staff meet with parishioners, new members, and guests. This building is in serious need of updates and repairs, including plumbing, new windows, and flooring. We would also like to install an entrance ramp to make it more welcoming and accessible.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
