Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
As an active, faith-filled parishioner, you know the many blessings we have to be grateful for at St. Martha Parish. Your family has likely celebrated many rites of passage here, such as baptism and first communion. You may have exchanged wedding vows in our church or bid farewell to a loved one in the comfort of your spiritual home. Truly, our parish plays a vital role throughout our lives.
But have you ever stopped to reflect on who is responsible for all we enjoy and use today?
Just as we now benefit from the generosity of those who came before us, we are also called to renew our church to ensure future generations can worship and encounter our god.
I am pleased to announce the launch of our parish’s Called to Renew campaign and invite you to consider god’s many blessings in your life, our parish, and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $635,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of our funds over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $317,000 to address our own needs.
Please take a moment to read the following page and see how Called to Renew will benefit St. Martha Parish, and how we will use our share of campaign funds. I then ask you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal.
I realize this request is significant, but I trust your commitment to our parish, the San Pedro community, and our catholic faith will guide you to make a sacrificial gift. Called to Renew is essential to ensuring our church is vibrant and healthy and our parish remains a presence in the lives of parishioners and the community for years to come.
I hope you will join me in supporting this historic campaign.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Hermitage
In our community, love and fervor for Our Lady of Guadalupe is essential. Four years ago, a temporary project was carried out to beautify our hermitage. With our “Called to Renew” campaign, we want to permanently renew and beautify this place of devotion and encounter with our Blessed Mother.
Kitchen
Our parish kitchen is a meeting place, a place of interaction and where our parishioners cook and help to support our parish. For this reason, we want to renovate it and make it more functional.
Lights & Sound System
To better service our parishioners and to evangelize in a more efficient way, we want to renew the lights and upgrade the sound system of our Church.
Rectory (exterior)
For many years the exterior of the rectory has not been renovated or received much maintenance. For this reason, we want to paint the rectory and fix the gutters and downspouts that need to be repaired. This will beautify our environment and parish and make it more presentable.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
