Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
These are exciting times for the Church in Southern California. Archbishop Gomez has called us to renewal. Not only a renewal of resources but a spiritual renewal as well. I am pleased to announce that after more than a year pause due to the pandemic, our parish is restarting our campaign in Called to Renew. This historic effort will provide much needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese. The campaign will also benefit our parish – St. Elisabeth. Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign.
As it was announced previously our goal is $660,000. Fifty percent of all funds raised up to goal will stay with our parish, and if we go over goal 100% of funds collected over the goal will remain with our parish. That means we get to keep $330,000 to address our own needs. Since 1919, St. Elisabeth has a rich history of service in Van Nuys. Called to Renew will allow us to continue to be a vital presence in our community. You will find more details about how we plan to use our campaign funds on the following pages.
As your pastor, considering these difficult times of the pandemic and hoping we will see the end soon, I invite you to take a moment in prayer to discern how best you can support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a pledge for a five-year period. This will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a wonderful parish and faith community and I assure you that I am very fortunate to be your pastor. I know that you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success. Thank you in advance for your faithful support.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Expanding the Parish
St. Elisabeth is blessed with many groups that give witness to a vital and living Christ in Van Nuys. But every year, the demand for more meeting space grows. Redesigning and expanding our parish hall will allow us to host more meetings and welcome new parishioners to our community.
Church Interior Renovations
Beauty abounds in our Catholic liturgy. After many years of use, our pews are in need of restoring. Restoring our pews, restoring our church’s luster with new painting, polishing the floors and doors, and fixing the lights will enhance our worship space and enrich our worship experience so that the beauty of the Word is reflected in our worship space.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
