Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
As active and involved parishioners, you are aware of the many blessings we are grateful for at St. Cyril of Jerusalem. You and your family may have celebrated many rites of passage here, from Baptism to first Holy Communion. Some of you have exchanged wedding vows in our church, while others have bid farewell to loved ones. Our church plays a vital role throughout our lives.
But have you ever stopped to consider who built the parish buildings we enjoy and use today?
Just as we benefit from the generosity of those who came before us, we too are “called to renew” our church so future generations will have a space to worship and encounter God.
I am pleased to inform you that our parish is participating in the Called to Renew campaign. This campaign invites each of us to fully consider the many blessings of God in our lives, and in the life of our parish.
Our parish’s goal is to raise $1 million over the next five years. Fifty percent of this amount, plus any funds we collect if we raise more than our goal, will remain with our parish to address the following needs:
Air conditioning and heating in the church, which will make the worship experience more enjoyable, especially for our more senior parishioners.
Church roofing, which is well past its life expectancy.
Church rectory, which is in dire need of upgrades and repairs.
Our parish school, which has modular buildings for classrooms that are beyond warranty and in need of replacement.
A new sound system in the church.
I invite you to take a moment and read this brochure, and learn how Called to Renew will benefit our Archdiocese, our parishes and our community.
To reach our goal, I am asking you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign. This campaign is important to keeping our church vibrant and healthy, and will ensure that we remain a presence in people’s lives for years to come.
I hope you will join me in supporting Called to Renew.

Parish Needs
Air Conditioning & Heating
Our church’s HVAC system is more than 60 years old, and maintenance over the years has been costly. A new energy-efficient HVAC system to help moderate the temperature in the church will make our worship experience more comfortable.
Rectory Renovations
Our church rectory is in dire need of updates and repairs, including plumbing. This building not only serves as our administrative center, it is where incoming parishioners and guests visit with the pastor and his staff.
Sound System
Sometimes the Mass is difficult to hear because of the inferior, antiquated quality of our current speaker system. We will install a new sound system in the church.
Church Roofing
When we install the new air conditioning system, we will also replace the lower flat roof, which is also 60 years old, and treat the upper white roof to a new coat of white, elastomeric coating.
Parish School Classrooms
The school is an important part of our parish community, as students who attend Catholic schools are more likely to remain practicing Catholics as adults. New modular buildings for classrooms will replace existing ones now past warranty.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
