Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
I am delighted to announce the launch of the Called to Renew campaign at our parish!
This is a very exciting time for Sacred Heart. God has opened so many doors for growth and has blessed our ministries immensely. Our sacramental programs — especially Religious Education, Confirmation, and RCIA — have increased the number of people committing to Christ. This past Easter Vigil, a record 37 adults received the Lord in the Sacraments. More young couples are registering with the parish, and more youths are stepping up to serve.
This year, we rolled out our five-year pastoral plan, which envisions a welcoming, integrated, and vibrant community of disciples of Christ. This comprehensive plan addresses Sacred Heart’s spiritual, physical, and infrastructure needs. Already, we have tremendously enriched the life of our parish. A parishioner shared with me, “Never have I known this parish to be so alive!”
But as our parish grows and flourishes, the need to upgrade our facilities becomes more apparent and crucial. That is why I am so happy about this campaign to benefit all parishes in the Archdiocese. Called to Renew will provide much-needed funding for our parish renovations and improvements, including the construction of an expansive hospitality/friendship corner with modern restrooms, a new roof, renovations to the church, and the establishment of the Msgr. Biedermann Education Scholarship Fund.
So please, take some time to prayerfully consider how you can most generously support this campaign with a five-year pledge. As your pastor, I will make my pledge along with you. I am confident that, together, we will achieve and even surpass our parish goal of $1,400,000. I trust in the generous, Christ-like hearts of Sacred Heart parishioners.
I pray that our Patron, Jesus Christ Himself, and our Blessed Mother Mary will help us accomplish this goal for the future of Sacred Heart and for the greater glory of God. Amen!
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Hospitality Center & “Friendship Corner”
Many parishioners enjoy gathering after Mass, but our current hospitality space is too small and the “donut hut” is in poor condition. Rebuilding the hospitality center and integrating it into an expansive plaza will allow us to create a “Friendship Corner” with attractive paving and landscaping with shaded seating. Incorporating a children’s play area and barbeque facilities will create a welcoming gathering space for parishioners and visitors.
Church Restrooms
While two church restrooms were adequate in 1966, today, due to a sewer line failure, we have only one dark, dank, and outdated restroom. Incorporating new restrooms into our new hospitality center will provide facilities that are modern and accessible to all.
Church Renovations and Roof
The church has needed reroofing for some time, but we could not fathom how to pay for this very expensive project before Called to Renew. Other renovations will include refinishing the pews, replacing the kneelers, and renovating the vestibule with new floor tiles and improved literature display racks.
Msgr. Biedermann Education Scholarship Fund
Investing in our children is essential to the future of our Church. Establishing a trust fund from Called to Renew will provide us with a long-term funding source for scholarships and enable more students to attend Sacred Heart School. A trust fund board will invest and manage this fund and seek additional funding.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
