Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
As active and involved parishioners, you are aware of the many blessings we have to be grateful for at Our Lady of Lourdes. Your family has likely celebrated many rites of passage here, such as Baptism and First Communion. You may have exchanged wedding vows in our church or bid farewell to a loved one in the comfort of your spiritual home. Truly, our parish plays a vital role throughout our lives. But have you ever stopped to reflect on who is responsible for all we enjoy and use today?
Just as we now benefit from the generosity of those who came before us, we, too, are “called to renew” our Church to ensure future generations can encounter Christ.
I am pleased to announce the launch of our parish’s Called to Renew campaign and invite you to consider God’s many blessings in your life, our parish, and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $320,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish to meet our own needs. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. I invite you to take a moment to read the following page and learn how Called to Renew will benefit Our Lady of Lourdes.
To reach our goal, I am asking you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. Called to Renew is vital to ensuring our Church is vibrant and healthy, and our parish remains a presence in the lives of parishioners and the community for years to come.
I hope you will join me in supporting Called to Renew.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Church Temple Roof
As evidenced by water leaks during the rainy season, the church temple is in dire need of a new roof. Roofing contractors have confirmed that the outdated tiles cannot be replaced. All of the multi-level roofs, flashing, and gutters will be replaced, and the interior wall damage from leaks repaired.
Church Temple Air Conditioning
Many parishioners suffer from the tremendous heat during our liturgies, and the circulating fans were a feeble attempt at solving this issue. Professionally installed air conditioning will make our worship experience more comfortable during the hottest months.
Parking Lot Asphalt
Our parking lot has many loose pieces that are turning into rubble and creating large potholes hazardous to vehicles and pedestrians. A paving company will remove the top layer of asphalt and then repave the entire lot.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
