Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
These are exciting times for the Church in Southern California! Archbishop Gomez has called us all to a period of renewal — a renewal of not only our resources, but a spiritual renewal as well. I am pleased to announce the launch of Maria Regina’s Called to Renew campaign. This historic effort will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, as well as strengthen important ministries and programs that affect us all.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $475,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. In other words, if our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $237,500 to address our own needs.
While our goal is above and beyond what we normally raise for Maria Regina, our community is worthy of this incredible investment. Future generations will look back on our dedication to our parish’s legacy as an example to follow.
Maria Regina has a rich history in Gardena. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be a vital presence in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a wonderful parish, and I am amazed at how our community always works together to meet needs that arise. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust this campaign to the intercession of our Blessed Mother and patron, Maria Regina.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Church Exterior Renovations
The windows of the church have exceeded their life expectancy and repairing them is no longer cost-efficient. Replacing the gutters and windows will prevent future damage to the interior of the church and ensure a dry worship space. We will also replace the cross on the roof, the church doors and the external stairs to create a more welcoming and safe environment.
Rectory
Replacing the rectory roof and repairing the water-damaged walls in the garage will prevent future damage to both structures. Adding much needed built-in storage in the garage and installing additional fencing and security bars will provide a more functional and safe environment.
Parish Hall Restrooms
The restrooms in the parish hall are long overdue for updating. Completely renovating these restrooms will make them accessible and more welcoming to all parishioners and visitors.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
