Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
In 1923, when a handful of families sacrificed to establish The Church of the Good Shepherd, they also blessed us with a legacy to build upon and celebrate.
Through God’s grace, we have grown from a small faith community into a welcoming parish of 2,000 families. We have created a vibrant, active, and dynamic place for people of all ages to grow in their faith, serve others, and share the Good News as they connect with Christ, one another, and those in need.
We are so excited in 2023 to celebrate 100 years of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the Beverly Hills community.
To aid in the preparations for our Centennial Year celebration, we are now launching the Called to Renew campaign alongside every parish in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and ask God to bless this ambitious effort. Our campaign will allow us to address the needs of The Church of the Good Shepherd ensuring future generations of parishioners may continue to gather, worship, and create lasting friendships.
The goal for our campaign is $1,130,000, of which 50% percent will remain at our parish to address the needs detailed on the following page. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $565,000 to address our own needs.
I am asking you, and every member of our parish, to make a gift from the heart. As your pastor and fellow parishioner, I will also make a sacrificial pledge. Before you determine your pledge, please prayerfully consider the generosity God has shown you, and the importance of the mission we have been given at The Church of the Good Shepherd.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Church Pews
The pews in the Church get used a lot and are beginning to show their age. Many of the pews have collected grime that were left over from the Covid protocols enforced during the re-opening of the Church. We will revarnish the pews to provide a more comfortable worship space for all.
Air Conditioning & Heating
Depending on the time of year, the temperature in the church can get uncomfortable. We will install a new HVAC system to help moderate the temperature in the church to make our worship experience more comfortable.
Church Interior Renovations
Beauty is an integral and essential part of our Catholic liturgy. It is indeed a gift from God, as St. Augustine points out. When a church’s beauty is allowed to wither, the liturgy experience suffers. It is time for us to restore some of the beauty and luster to our church with new flooring, painting, lighting, and plumbing.
Roofing
The roof on the Church is past its useful life expectancy. From time to time, we experience leaks. Up until now we have made do by patching up sections. We can no longer put off the effectible. We will replace the roof which keep further damage from happening.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
