Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
Despite the challenges we may be facing, these are exciting times for the Church in Southern California! Archbishop Gomez has called our local Church to a period of spiritual renewal.
Even though we may be a small faith community, through God’s grace, we have created a vibrant place to grow in relationship with God, serve those in need, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are launching the Called to Renew campaign at Christ the King Parish alongside every parish in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and we ask God to bless this ambitious effort. This campaign will allow us to address the needs of our parish, ensuring future generations of parishioners may continue to gather, worship, and form lasting friendships in Christ.
The goal for our campaign is $430,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish to address the needs detailed on the following page. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect above our goal.If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $215,000 to address our own needs. Please take a moment to read the following page and see how Called to Renew will benefit Christ the King.
I am asking you and every member of our parish to make a gift from the heart. As your pastor and fellow parishioner, I have also made a sacrificial pledge. Before you determine your gift, please prayerfully consider the generosity God has shown you, and the importance of the mission we have been given at Christ the King.I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Youth Minister
Pope Frances has placed great importance on the need for better youth and young adult ministry, as this is the age when many leave the church. Developing a Youth Ministry will be a primary goal of our new Associate Pastor.
Air Conditioning & Heating
Depending on the time of year, the temperature in the church can get uncomfortable. Our Church was built at a time when indoor cooling/heating was not common. We will update our HVAC system to help moderate the temperature in the church to make our worship experience more comfortable. To do this, we also must upgrade our electrical panel in the church.
Painting the Church
It has been many years since the exterior of the Church was last painted. Proceeds from the campaign will be used to paint the Church and add additional outdoor lighting for safety, beauty, and a distinct eye-catching exterior.
Permanent Baptismal Font
Adding a permanent Baptismal Font is one of the final touches for the interior of the church. A beautiful symbol of our entrance into Catholicism and the importance of evangelization. It is also a necessary step on our path to being named a Divine Mercy Shrine.
Stained Glass Restoration
We enjoy beautiful stained glass in our church, but it has not been maintained over the years. The lead framing of the glass, especially on the south side of the church, has deformed and threatens the glass itself. Restoring stained glass is a painstaking process but is necessary before we lose some of our treasures.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
