Enhancing Accessibility Through Called to Renew

St. Thomas More Parish in Alhambra embarked on a mission to enhance accessibility for all parishioners through projects funded by the Called to Renew campaign. Among these projects were the repair of a wheelchair ramp and the addition of two new ramps, significantly improving accessibility throughout the parish grounds for parishioners with wheelchairs and other walking devices.

Wheelchair Ramp Repair

The repair project undertaken by St. Thomas More Parish was the repair of an existing wheelchair ramp, which had shown signs of wear and tear over the years. With the support of Called to Renew funds, the ramp was refurbished to meet safety standards and ensure ease of access for individuals with mobility challenges. This repair not only benefited the parish's current members but also extended a warm welcome to visitors and new worshippers, demonstrating the parish's commitment to inclusivity and hospitality.

Addition of Two New Ramps

In addition to repairing the existing ramp, St. Thomas More Parish took the initiative to add two new ramps to further enhance accessibility. These new ramps were strategically placed to provide convenient access points to different areas of the parish facilities, including the church entrance and community spaces. The addition of these ramps was a significant step forward in making St. Thomas More Parish more welcoming and accommodating to individuals of all abilities.

The projects funded by Called to Renew at St. Thomas More Parish in Alhambra have not only improved physical accessibility but also symbolize the parish's commitment to embracing our mobility challenged brothers and sisters, ensuring that everyone feels valued and included. Through these efforts, St. Thomas More Parish continues to uphold its mission of spreading love, compassion, and faith to all who enter its doors, regardless of any physical limitations.
