Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
These are exciting times for the Church in Southern California! Archbishop Gomez has called us all to a period of renewal — a renewal of not only our resources, but a spiritual renewal as well. I am pleased to announce the launch of St. Thomas the Apostle’s Called to Renew campaign. This historic effort will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, as well as strengthen important ministries and programs that affect us all.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $830,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. In other words, if our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $415,000 to address our own needs.
While our goal is above and beyond what we normally raise for St. Thomas the Apostle, our community is worthy of this incredible investment. Future generations will look back on our dedication to our parish’s legacy as an example to follow.
St. Thomas the Apostle has a rich history in Los Angeles. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be a vital presence in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support the Campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a wonderful parish, and I am amazed at how our community always works together to meet needs that arise. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust this campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our patron, St. Thomas.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.
Our Parish Receives
To renew our parish and strengthen ministries.
Our worship space should complement the beauty that abounds in our Catholic liturgy. Installing an artistic backdrop behind the altar will fill currently bare wall space and beautify our sanctuary. Repainting the interior and exterior of the church, for the first time in many years, will help restore its luster and protect it from the elements. These improvements will enrich our worship experience.
Eucharistic Adoration Chapel
Parishioners and visitors pray and reflect in our chapel on a daily basis. Directing additional funds from the campaign to those we have already raised will allow us to complete the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.
Air Conditioning and Heating
Our church’s current pump system does not efficiently moderate the temperature during the warmest months of the year. Installing a new HVAC system will make our worship experience more comfortable. We will also replace the malfunctioning HVAC system in the Bishop Dennis O’Neil Center and install new HVAC systems in the rectory and the convent.
