Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
As a person of faith, you are aware of the many blessings we have to be grateful for at St. Teresa of Ávila. Your family has likely celebrated many rites of passage here, such as Baptism and First Communion. You may have exchanged wedding vows in our church or bid farewell to a loved one in the comfort of your spiritual home. Truly, our parish plays a vital role throughout our lives.
But have you ever stopped to reflect on who is responsible for all we enjoy and use today?
Just as we now benefit from the generosity of those who came before us, we, too, are called to renew our Catholic community to ensure that future generations also can grow in friendship with Jesus here.
Throughout the Archdiocese parishes have already begun to participate in the Called to Renew Program. Our parish was scheduled begin this renewal program two years ago but, due to COVID, was delayed. Now it’s our turn to be part of the campaign and build for the future.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $180,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $90,000 to address our own needs.
Please take a moment to read the following page and see how Called to Renew will benefit St. Teresa, and how we will use our share of campaign funds. I then ask you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal.
I realize this request is significant but I trust your commitment to our parish community and our Catholic faith will guide you to make a sacrificial gift. Called to Renew is essential to ensuring our parish is vibrant and healthy, and our parish remains a presence in the lives of parishioners and the community for years to come. I hope you will join me in supporting this historic campaign.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Transform our Former Convent into the Ávila Center for Faith Formation
For many years our parish convent was a residence for the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary of the Woods who faithfully served the community of St. Teresa of Ávila, especially as educators for our youth. When the sisters moved out of the parish the building was used in various ways. Now it is not being used at all.
Our parish’s religious formation programs are in great need of help and renewal. Faith formation is one of the most important activities of a parish. We need a dignified space for our catechists to organize themselves, have meetings and have a dedicated space to share our Catholic faith with our young people. This will allow us to have a place for Bible Study and other adult spiritual renewal programs as well. The focus of our Called to Renew project, therefore, is to transform our former convent into the Ávila Center for faith formation. This will be a wonderful way to assist our parish community to do the work of the Gospel for years to come.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
