Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
It is with immense joy and heartfelt gratitude that I announce the launch of Called to Renew at St. Pius X Parish. This campaign will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, as well as strengthen important ministries and programs that affect us all.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $665,000 of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $332,500 to address our own needs.
St. Pius X parish has a rich history in Santa Fe Springs. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be a vital presence in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support this campaign. Please know that this is above and beyond your regular contribution/donation/offering to our church. Likewise, I encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a wonderful parish, and I am amazed at how our community has always worked together to meet needs that arise. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust our Called to Renew campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our patron, St. Pius X.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Church Air Conditioning & Heating
Our church was built at a time when indoor cooling/heating was uncommon therefore depending on the time of year, the temperature in the church can get uncomfortable. We will install a new HVAC system to help moderate the temperature in the church to make our worship experience more comfortable.
Church Pews & Kneelers
The pews in the church are frequently used and are showing signs of aging. Many of the pews are cracking, and several kneelers are broken. We will refurbish the pews and fix the kneelers or install new pews and kneelers depending on affordability cost in 2023 to provide a more comfortable worship space for all especially for seniors, who are the majority of our parishioners.
Parish Center Expansion of Rooms
The center was a convent for nuns in the past; thereby, the rooms were used as sleeping quarters. Room size is not ideal to hold group/ministry meetings therefore we plan to tear down walls between rooms to increase meeting space. Group leads are operating within this constraint of room size unable to increase membership size. The chapel located in the center is already being utilized as a meeting location. Ideally, however, we would like to convert the chapel fully as an additional place for ongoing Adoration.
Church Monumental Sign
The Parish monumental sign, which is the main Spot to draw people to the church is too worn out to even be seen or noticed. This prevents potential church attendees from noticing our place of worship, especially passers-by who may be looking for a church on Sundays & holidays while visiting California or even the US.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
