From the Pastor

Dear Friends in Christ,

One of the many wonderful things about St. Philomena Parish is the real sense of family found here. Families are the backbone of this community, and the bond we share is strengthened through the celebration of our faith’s momentous occasions, such as First Communion and marriage. Past generations of families gifted us this parish by contributing to the construction of our church, and we thank God for their generosity and their legacy.

Just as we have benefited from the generosity of those who came before us, we, too, are called to renew our Church so future generations can worship and encounter Christ. We are excited to join with all of the parishes in the Archdiocese who are embarking on the Called to Renew campaign, and are invited to consider our many blessings and share them with those who will come after us.

The Archdiocese has given us a goal of $1,375,000, of which 50 percent will remain in our parish for our immediate needs. We will also retain all of the funds we raise beyond our goal. In other words, if our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $687,500 for much-needed improvements at St. Philomena, including repairing and updating our church, parish hall buildings, and parking lot. To reach our goal, I ask you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign. I hope you will join me in supporting Called to Renew, not only for the benefit of the greater Catholic community but for our own parish as well. This campaign is important to ensuring we leave a legacy for future generations so those families, too, will have a place to celebrate the important milestones of their lives.
