Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
It is with immense joy and sincere gratitude that with this letter I announce the beginning of the capital campaign in our parish, in collaboration with the archdiocese, which bears the title Called to Renew.
This campaign will provide much-needed funds for churches in our archdiocese to repair and renovate their structures. Naturally this campaign will also benefit our Church of Saint Peter.
Each parish has a goal for the campaign; our goal is $120,000. 50% percent of all funds raised will go to the Parish; if we exceed our goal, 100% of every dollar over the goal will go to the Parish. This means we could receive $60,000 or more to support our projects.
St. Peter Italian Parish has a great tradition of service in Los Angeles. The Called to Renew campaign allows us to continue our presence in the community. On the next page, there is more information about our plans for the use of the funds.
As your Pastor, I invite you to take a moment to pray and discern how you can support this campaign. Also, I invite you to consider a donation commitment payable over a period of five years. Your promise gives us the best chance of achieving our goal. Our Mission is a wonderful community of faith, and I assure you that I feel very fortunate to be your Pastor. I am confident that each of you will do what you can to ensure our success in this campaign.
For the good outcome of this campaign, we ask for the intercession of all the Patron Saints we venerate in our church, especially St. Peter the parish Patron Saint.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.
Our Parish Receives
To renew our parish and strengthen ministries.
Air Conditioning & Heating
Depending on the time of year, the temperature in the church can get uncomfortable. Our Church was built at a time when indoor cooling/heating was not common. We will make the necessary repairs to the HVAC system to help moderate the temperature in the church to make our worship experience more comfortable.
The roof on the Hall is past its useful life expectancy. From time to time, we experience leaks. Up until now we have made do by patching up sections. We can no longer put off the inevitable. We will repair the roof which keeps further damage from happening.
Main Entrance Doors
The doors at the main entrance need refurbishment. We will install windows to allow better natural lighting to illuminate the church. We will also add an automatic opening feature to assist those who need ADA accommodation.
