Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
As an active and faith-filled parishioner, you know the many blessings we are grateful for at St. Hilary. Your family has likely celebrated many rites of passage here, such as Baptism and first Communion. You may have exchanged wedding vows in our church or bid farewell to a loved one in the comfort of your spiritual home. Indeed, our parish plays a vital role throughout our lives.
But have you ever stopped to reflect on who is responsible for all we enjoy and use today?
Just as we now benefit from the generosity of those who came before us, we, too, are called to renew our Church to ensure future generations can worship and encounter Christ.
I am pleased to announce the launch of our parish’s Called to Renew campaign and invite you to consider God’s many blessings in your life, our parish, and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $705,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $352,500 to address our own needs.
Please take a moment to read the following page and see how Called to Renew will benefit St. Hilary, and how we will use our share of campaign funds. I then ask you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign, allowing us the best opportunity to reach our goal.
I realize this request is significant but trust your commitment to our parish, the Pico Rivera community, and our Catholic faith will guide you to make a sacrificial gift. Called to Renew is essential to ensuring our church is vibrant and healthy, and our parish remains a presence in the lives of parishioners and the community for years to come. I hope you will join me in supporting this historic campaign.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Roofing
The roof on the Church is past its useful life expectancy. From time to time, we experience leaks. Up until now we have made do by patching up sections. We can no longer put off the effectible. We will replace the roof which keep further damage from happening.
Drainage System
Due to having older buildings, we experience problems with our drainage system. To minimize the problems and to accommodate the improvements identified above — we will change the drainage system in the whole area.
Rectory Renovations
It is time for us to restore some of the beauty and luster to our church rectory with exterior paint and building repairs. We will also remodel some of the non-residential rooms so they can be used by the parish community as meeting space and offices.
Athletic Field Upgrade
Plans to re-landscape the large field adjacent to the school could generate additional revenue for the parish by renting out spaces to community organizations for training and competition.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
