Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
From the early days of our parish to the challenges and opportunities of today, the story of St. Finbar Parish has been one of vision. It is no coincidence that our church’s address is 2020 West Olive Avenue. Our vision for the future of St. Finbar is as grand as our community’s past.
In keeping with the vision of Archbishop Gomez for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and our vision for our parish, I am pleased to announce our participation in Called to Renew. This five-year campaign will renew parishes and schools throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Our participation will be tailored to the specific needs and aspirations of our special faith community.
Through our worship, ministries, and parish school, we offer a true vision of the love of God and true knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ. Your support of and participation in Called to Renew will ensure the continuation of what makes the
St. Finbar experience so unique for today and tomorrow, and for everyone seeking God’s love and mercy during challenging times ahead.
We have grand plans for the future of our parish that are rooted in our legacy of fellowship, discipleship, and true Christian service. We have set a community goal of raising $2 million — roughly twice our annual offertory — through Called to Renew. When we reach this goal, nearly two-thirds of the funds we raise will be directed to the projects detailed on the following page.
I ask that you prayerfully consider a commitment to Called to Renew. We are stepping forward in faith to make early investments in the projects that will continue to renew our community as we seek your support.
As disciples of Jesus working together in the spirit of true Christian fellowship, we will reach our campaign goal if we journey in Christ through the Holy Spirit into the future of our community — a future that will be as blessed as its rich history.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Worship Environment and the ongoing “Sight and Sound” Initiative
Removing the carpeting in the sanctuary to reveal the terrazzo flooring will eliminate the visual break from the assembly to the altar. Repairing and restoring our historic pipe organ, which was originally installed at Hollywood’s Grauman’s Theater in the 1920s and ‘30s and gifted to our community in 1958, will again fill our worship environment with the musical majesty the renowned Wurlitzer pipe organ can provide.
St. Finbar School
Finbar School was voted Burbank’s best private school again in 2018. Updating our school campus with an expansive, modern entrance will befit the school’s grand tradition of providing an impactful and transformational Catholic education experience while enhancing campus security and providing much-needed meeting space. We will also update all of the restrooms while making other necssary infrastructure improvements.
Holy Spirit Center
Creating a fine arts center in the Holy Spirit Center with music and media arts will provide a gathering place where children and adults can experience and explore all the humanities have to offer. We will also equip the facility with the resources to webcast our popular and powerful Seeker Sessions, along with other programming, to audiences around the world.
Our Faith Center
Among the most impactful improvements to our community has been the opening of our adoration chapel in the Faith Center, which is now the center for faith formation for elementary through high school students. Expanding the adoration chapel to include an outdoor meditation garden for prayer and small group sessions will support the ongoing spiritual development of our faith community.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
