Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
In 1944, when a handful of families sacrificed to establish St. Cyprian Parish, they also blessed us with a legacy to build upon and celebrate. Through God’s grace, we have grown from a small faith community into a welcoming family, a vibrant, active, and dynamic place for all ages to grow in their faith and share the Good News as they connect with Christ, one another, and those in need.
It is with immense joy and heartfelt gratitude that I announce the launch of Called to Renew at St. Cyprian Parish. This historic effort will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, as well as strengthen important ministries and programs that affect us all.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $505,000, of which 50% will remain here at St. Cyprian. We will also retain 100% of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $252,500 to address the needs of our community and future generations will see this dedication to our parish’s legacy as an example to follow.
St. Cyprian Parish has a rich history in the Long Beach/Lakewood area. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be a vital presence in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of the campaign funds are on the following page.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a wonderful parish, and I am amazed at how our community always works together to meet needs that arise. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust this campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our patron, St. Cyprian.
Thank you in advance for your continued, faithful and generous support.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Stained Glass Windows
The stained glass windows in the church illuminate our worship space by allowing the beauty of sunlight to come inside. Depending on the time of day, the effect of the sunlight can be quite remarkable. However, many of the windows need repairs to return them to their original state luminous state.
School and Campus Security
Our school campus is currently accessible to everyone. With funds from this campaign, our goal is to provide a more secure campus for our students while leaving ample parking for visitors and our community.
Parish Hall
Our Parish Large Hall is one of the most used spaces on our campus. The wear and tear of everyday use are becoming more visible. We need to clean and care for the interior space and make some much-needed improvements. This includes upgrading the restrooms, installing new flooring, and replacing inner and outer door fixtures and mechanisms for security and safety. These improvements will benefit our entire parish and school community.
Parish School
Our school is an important part of our parish community and perhaps you have children who have attended, currently attend our school or maybe you are St. Cyprian School alumni. We want to support our school through Called to Renew by repairing and updating all school windows for added security and environmental improvements and installing new heating and cooling units in each classroom to help moderate the temperature. These improvements will also benefit our Religious Education and Confirmation students as they use our school rooms for their Sacrament preparation classes.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
