A Message from Father Anh-Tuan Nguyen

It is with immense joy and heartfelt gratitude that I announce the launch of
“Called to Renew” at Saint Columban Filipino Catholic Church, a renewal of not only our resources, but a spiritual renewal as well. This campaign will provide much needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, as well as strengthen important ministries and programs that affect us all.

Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $235,000, of which 67% will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100% of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $157,500 to address our own needs.

While our goal is above and beyond what we normally raise for St. Columban, our community is worthy of this incredible investment of strengthening our heritage of faith and culture. Future generations will see this dedication to our parish’s legacy as an example to follow.

St. Columban Church has a unique and rich history in Los Angeles’ Historic Filipinotown. “Called to Renew” will ensure we can continue to be a vital presence in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page. I then ask you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal.

I realize this request is significant but trust your commitment to our parish, community, and our Catholic faith will guide you to make a sacrificial gift. “Called to Renew” is essential to ensuring our church is vibrant and healthy, and our parish remains a presence in the lives of parishioners and the community for years to come. I hope you will join me in supporting this historic campaign.

We entrust this campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother Mary, our patron, St. Columban and our very own Filipino Saints Lorenzo Ruiz and Pedro Calungsod. Thank you in advance for your faithful support.
