Dear Friends in Christ,

The first St. Benedict Church was located right about where City Hall sits today. Our early pioneer families work hard to establish a Church in Montebello, they also blessed us with a legacy to build upon and celebrate.

Through God’s grace, we have grown from a small faith community into a welcoming parish of 1,347 families. We have created a vibrant, active, and dynamic place for people of all ages to grow in their faith, serve others, and share the Good News as they connect with Christ, one another, and those in need.

We are now launching the Called to Renew campaign alongside every parish in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and ask God to bless this ambitious effort. Our campaign will allow us to address the needs of St. Benedict, ensuring future generations of parishioners may continue to gather, worship, and create lasting friendships.

The goal for our campaign is $685,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish to address the needs detailed on the following page. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $342,500 to address our own needs.

I am asking you, and every member of our parish, to make a gift from the heart. As your pastor and fellow parishioner, I will also make a sacrificial pledge. Before you determine your pledge, please prayerfully consider the generosity God has shown you, and the importance of the mission we have been given at St. Benedict.

Parish Needs

New Restrooms

The current restrooms are not sufficient to meet the demands of our community and at times are out of service. We need to expand both the men and women’s restrooms.

Parking Lot

The Church parking lot is the first thing people see when they come to St. Benedict. We need to repave and restripe the parking lot including the yellow arrows pointing direction for the entrance and exit. We also need to repair the cement cracks in the parking area.

Parish Center

The parish center needs updated lighting, new flooring in hallway and restrooms, and a fresh coat of paint on the hallway walls.

Church Sound System

A new sound system in the Church will help to improve the sound quality of our liturgies.
