Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
Beloved St. Basil Korean Catholic Community family,
May the peace of the Lord be with every family in our community.
I’d like to share with you the new campaign called the Called to Renew by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Along with participation of every parish in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the Called to Renew campaign would renew missionary discipleship, improve ministry programs, strengthen ministerial outreach, and elevate and improve our parish. In this effort, each parish has been given a target goal amount for the campaign, and we are about to step up to fulfill this goal along with all parishes.
The target goal for our St. Basil Korean Catholic Community is set at $140,000.However, $70,000, which is 50% of the total campaign goal, will be directed back to our community for our own needs. Not only that, but our community will also receive 100% of money collected above goal. The donation can be either one-time payment or pledge over a 5-year commitment.
For the past 30 years, we had triumphed each time we were called to support the community. And I trust that it is no different this time. Please pray about it and consider giving to support our parish and our future generation.
I ask Our Lady of Perpetual Help for the success of the Called to Renew campaign, and through the intercession of St. Basil, our patron saint.
For your enthusiastic participation, I sincerely appreciate it.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Rooftop of Community Center
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the St. Basil Korean Catholic Community Church, various works have been done in the church. However, due to the building being quite old, it still needs many repairs. We are carefully hopeful that we can fix the leak with the fund raised. The rooftop is dilapidated and in disrepair with water leak. The money will be used successfully in preventing further damage from the water leak.
Parking Lot of Community Center
The parking lot is the very first site people see when they enter the community center. Yes, it is small, but it still needs to be safe and free of puddles and cracks. The fund raised will be used to resurface the parking lot.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
