Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
Our community has joined together as a parish family to meet the challenges of It is with trust and gratitude for all God has done and continues to do for us that I announce the launch of Called to Renew at St. Agnes. This ongoing campaign in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has already provided many parishes with much-needed funding to address deferred maintenance of their facilities and support ministries and programs. Our parish, too, can receive the blessings of this campaign.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $565,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $282,500 to address our own needs.
While our goal is above and beyond what we normally raise, the St Agnes community is worthy of this incredible investment. Our dedication to this effort will serve as a testimony of our faith for future generations.
St. Agnes has been a refuge of hope in the Adams District. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be a vital presence in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support this campaign. I encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a community where the Spirit of God manifests, and we have always worked together to meet needs that arise. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust our Called to Renew campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our patron, St. Agnes.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.
Our Parish Receives
$282,500
To renew our parish and strengthen ministries.
Parish Needs
Sound System
Installing a new sound system will ensure all are able to clearly hear the Word of God and fully participate during Mass.
Kitchen
Building a new kitchen will update and increase the functionality of this popular space while improving access for parish groups and ministries.
Landscaping and Beautification
Creating a garden around the statue of Our Lady, between the church and offices, will draw us into prayer as we enter the parish grounds.
Roofing
Replacing the roofs will prevent future damage to the interior of our buildings. All of our roofs have now exceeded their life expectancies and repairing sections is no longer cost-efficient.
Sanctuary
Remodeling the sanctuary will not only enhance our worship but also our ability to make parishioners of all abilities feel welcome in our spiritual home. We will remove the front step to make the sanctuary more accessible for those with mobility issues and improve the flow of the Communion line, as well as add a baptismal font and reposition the ambo and presider’s chair.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
