Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
I am writing to you with immense joy and heartfelt gratitude to announce the launch of our parish capital campaign in conjunction with the Archdiocese’s Called to Renew effort. This campaign will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout our Archdiocese, including St. Dominic Savio.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our parish’s goal is $1,130,000. Fifty percent of all funds raised up to our goal will stay with our parish, and 100 percent of the funds collected over the goal will remain with our parish. If we meet our goal, we will receive $565,000 to address our own needs.
St. Dominic Savio has a rich history of service in Bellflower. Called to Renew will allow us to continue to be a vital presence in our community. You will find more details about how we plan to use our funds on the following page.
As your pastor, I invite you to take a moment in prayer to discern how you can best support this
campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a pledge for a five-year period. This will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a wonderful parish and faith community, and I assure you that I am very fortunate to be your pastor. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust this campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our patron, St. Dominic Savio.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Parking Lot
The parking lot is the first impression people have of our campus. It leaves a lot to be desired. We will fill in the potholes and cracks and then completely resurface the parking lot, creating a more welcoming and safer environment.
Roofing
The church roof has passed its useful life expectancy. As a result, we have experienced leaks that we have repaired with patching. We can no longer delay the inevitable and will replace the roof to prevent further damage from occurring.
Sound System
Our current sound system is outdated, and parishioners often cannot hear services in certain parts of the church or experience an echo. A new sound system will ensure all parishioners are able to hear clearly in the church.
Air Conditioning and Heating
At certain times of year, the temperature in the church can be uncomfortable. When our church was built, indoor cooling and heating was uncommon. We will install a new HVAC system to help moderate the temperature in the church efficiently and improve the comfort of our worship experience.
Parish Hall Restroom
Our church currently has no restrooms for parishioners to use during services or events. Trips to the restroom require a walk outside, sometimes in inclement weather, to the school restrooms, which are designed for children. We will build new women’s and men’s restrooms in the parish hall that are accessible to all.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
