Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
These are exciting times for the Church in Southern California! Archbishop Gomez has called us all to a period of renewal — a renewal of not only our resources, but a spiritual renewal as well. I am pleased to announce the launch of our parish’s Called to Renew campaign. This historic effort will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, as well as strengthen important ministries and programs that affect us all.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $945,000, of which 50% (or $472,500) will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100% of funds we collect over our goal.
While our goal is above and beyond what we normally raise for Santa Rosa de Lima Parish, our community is worthy of this incredible investment. Future generations will see this dedication to our parish’s legacy as an example to follow.
Santa Rosa de Lima Parish has a rich history in San Fernando, CA. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be a vital presence in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are outlined in the accompany materials.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a wonderful parish, and I am amazed at how our community always works together to meet needs that arise. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust this campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our patron, Santa Rosa de Lima.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.
Our Parish Receives
$472,500
To renew our parish and strengthen ministries.
Parish Needs
Parking Lot
$150,000
When the Parish Hall was built in 2014, we entered into a covenant with the City of San Fernando that would ensure our parish is providing adequate parking on our campus and utilizing land in an efficient manner. To fulfill our obligation, we will use Called to Renew funds to meet parking space requirements by repaving and striping the parking lot at the Fr. Simon Center, located at 511 Kalisher St., San Fernando, CA.
Roof Repairs
$325,000
For the protection and safety of the church building and parishioners, the Church tile roof, currently 60 years old, needs repair. Inclement weather has damaged the wood structure under the tiles and the roof has many leaks due to the worn and in some cases vanished, black paper underlayment. A professional evaluation was completed and recommended that the roof damage is addressed in efforts to stop further deterioration of the church building.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
