Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
In the Gospel of John, we hear Simon Peter exclaimed, “Lord, to whom shall we go. You have the words of eternal life.” We are fortunate to have a place to go — a place of worship and a spiritual home here at Sacred Heart.
In a few years, I will transfer to a new parish, as all priests do. Our Sacred Heart community, however, will live on even after my pastorship ends. This parish will remain here for you, your children, and their children. We want this parish to always be here for your Baptisms, First Communions, Weddings, and Funerals. This is why I am asking you today to make an investment in the future of our Church — your Church.
The Called to Renew campaign will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, and strengthen important ministries and programs that impact us all.
Each parish has a very ambitious goal. Sacred Heart is charged with raising $415,000, fifty percent of which will remain at our parish. We will also retain any funds we collect over our goal.
I am very proud of Sacred Heart’s rich history in Altadena. We are a part of the fabric that makes up this faithful, diverse area. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be a presence in our community. Especially in our current climate, our presence among the leaders of this community is vital to continuing our mission.
Will you please take five minutes today to prayerfully consider how you will help make a collective impact on the future of this church? This is a wonderful parish, and I am amazed at how our community always comes together to address all needs. Please know that your generosity does not go unnoticed. If you are able, please consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal.
We entrust our Called to Renew campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our patron, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who is truly present in the holy Eucharist.
