Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
As an active and faith-filled parishioner, you are aware of the many blessings we have to be grateful for at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. Your family has likely celebrated many rites of passage here, such as Baptism and first Communion. You may have exchanged wedding vows in our church or bid farewell to a loved one in the comfort of your spiritual home. Truly, our parish plays a vital role throughout our lives.
But have you ever stopped to reflect on who is responsible for all we enjoy and use today?
Just as we now benefit from the generosity of those who came before us, we, too, are Called to Renew our Church to ensure future generations can worship and encounter Christ.
I am pleased to announce the launch of our parish’s Called to Renew campaign and invite you to consider God’s many blessings in your life, our parish, and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $595,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $297,500 to address our own needs.
Please take a moment to read the following page and see how Called to Renew will benefit Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, and how we will use our share of campaign funds. I then ask you to prayerfully consider a five-year pledge to the campaign, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal.
I realize this request is significant but trust your commitment to our parish, the San Fernando community, and our Catholic faith will guide you to make a sacrificial gift. Called to Renew is essential to ensuring our church is vibrant and healthy, and our parish remains a presence in the lives of parishioners and the community for years to come. I hope you will join me in supporting this historic campaign.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.
Our Parish Receives
$297,500
To renew our parish and strengthen ministries.
Parish Needs
Church Interior Painting
$20,000
Beauty is an integral and essential part of our Catholic liturgy. It is indeed a gift from God, as St. Augustine points out. When a church’s beauty is allowed to wither, the liturgy experience suffers. It is time for us to restore some of the beauty and luster to our church with new painting.
Parking Lot
$20,000
The parking lot is the first thing people see when they come on campus. We will use part of our Called to Renew funds to fill in some cracks and seal the parking floor completely. This will create a more welcoming and safer environment.
Air Conditioning & Heating
$50,000
In the geographical area where we are at, we need air conditioning and heating. We need to replace the old air conditioning and heating system to make our worship experience more comfortable.
Projects for Parish School
$45,000
The school is an important part of our parish community. We want to support our school by adding Five new units of air conditioning and replace some part of the roof of the school.
Church Pews & Kneelers
$80,000
The pews in the church get used a lot and have been in the church for more than 70 years. It is urgent to sand and paint the pews and refurbish some kneelers.
Fence around Church Property
$80,000
Part of the funds will be used to put up fencing around the church with five gates, including two large gates and three small gates.
Fireproof safe for filing
$7,000
We would like to protect important documents by acquiring a fireproof safe for filling.
Convent Roofing & Painting
$48,500
The convent roof needs overall attention. The convent needs painting as well.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
