Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
In 1927, when a handful of families sacrificed to establish Our Lady of the Bright Mount Parish, they also blessed us with a legacy to build upon and celebrate.
Through God’s grace, we are now a welcoming parish of 300 families. We have created a vibrant, active, and dynamic place for people of all ages to grow in their faith, serve others, and share the Good News as they connect with Christ, one another, and those in need.
We are now launching the Called to Renew campaign alongside every parish in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and ask God to bless this ambitious effort. This campaign will allow us to ensure future generations may continue to gather, worship, and create lasting friendships at Our Lady of the Bright Mount and Shrine of St. John Paul II.
The goal for our campaign is $215,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish to address the needs detailed on the following page. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal.
I am asking you, and every member of our parish, to make a gift from the heart. In turn, I, as your pastor and fellow parishioner, will also make a sacrificial pledge. Before you determine your pledge, please prayerfully consider the generosity God has shown you, and the importance of the mission we have been given at Our Lady of the Bright Mount and Shrine of St. John Paul II.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Rectory
Our rectory is in need of major repairs to the electrical system and roof and currently lacks heating or air conditioning, despite the extreme summer temperatures and cool winters. Replacing the electrical wiring, repairing the roof, and installing an HVAC system will create a modern and comfortable home for our pastor to welcome visitors and conduct parish business.
Parish Hall
Our parish hall is central to our community’s many activities, such as meetings and meals, but is need of crucial updates. Repairing the floors, air conditioning system, and restrooms; painting the building; and upgrading the refrigerators will keep this space functional and vibrant.
Church Campus
The church campus is in need of significant renovations. Updating the outside restrooms, repairing the roofs on all of the buildings as well as the lift from the parking lot to the church, and removing the split tree in the parking lot will ensure our campus is safe and accessible for parishioners and visitors.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
