Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
It is with incredible gratitude and excitement that I announce the launch of Called to Renew at Our Lady of Malibu. This campaign will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, as well as strengthen important ministries and programs that affect us all.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our Lady of Malibu’s goal is $1,270,000, of which 67 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of the funds we collect over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $855,000 to address our own needs.
Our Lady of Malibu has been a beacon of hope for the cities of Malibu, Calabasas, Topanga, and Agoura Hills for nearly 75 years. Called to Renew will ensure we continue to be a vital presence in our community for many years to come. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is an amazing parish with a rich history, and I am inspired by how our community generously works together to meet needs that arise. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust our Called to Renew campaign to the intercession of our Blessed Mother, our patroness.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Convent and Rectory Renovations
Renovating our convent will provide our parish priests with living space separate from the parish office and create a gathering space for the parish’s social events. The second floor of our rectory will then be converted into classroom space to accommodate the school’s elective classes for our growing student population. Our Religious Education program will utilize this space on Sundays to alleviate space concerns for all of our faith formation programs.
Msgr. Sheridan Scholarship Endowment
Creating a scholarship endowment will ensure no student is denied a Catholic education because of financial hardship. This vital endowment, which will be named for Our Lady of Malibu’s beloved former shepherd, will help form Christ-centered leaders for the future of the Church.
Memorial Garden with Columbarium
Creating a memorial garden on the north end of the church garden will offer parishioners an eternal resting place on the grounds of their spiritual home. Pending approval, the memorial garden will include a beautiful hardscape with a columbarium.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
