Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
90 years ago, seeing the need for a church in Boyle Heights, the parish of Our
Lady of the Rosary of Talpa began. Through the sacrifices of many and a lot of
generosity from our predecessors our parish was built.
Today, looking to the future, Archbishop Jose Gomez invites us to leave a
patrimony for the benefit of future generations. We start the Called to Renew
campaign, with the hope that it will allow us to continue our presence in the
community for many years to come.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. The goal of our parish is
$205.000, of which we will keep 50% of the funds collected for our own needs.
If we exceed our goal, the parish receives 100% of the funds raised above the
goal.
As your pastor I invite you to take a moment to pray and discern how you can
best support this campaign Your promise made in good faith is payable over
five years.
You know our community well and I believe that all of us who love Our Lady of
the Rosary of Talpa are called to this commitment.
Knowing the generosity of the Lord, who does not forget good works and
the protection of Our Lady of Talpa, will help us to ensure success in this
challenge.

Parish Needs
Parking Lot
The parking lot is the first thing people
see when they visit our church. We need
to completely resurface the parking lot
to create a more welcoming and safe
environment.
Ramp
Installing a ramp at the entrance to
the church will make our parish more
accessible to those we who find climbing
the stairs difficult and will make bringing
in a casket for funerals much easier.
Restrooms
The restrooms in the Church need
upgrading. Installing more water efficient
sinks and toilets will greatly reduce
our water use. We will also install new
flooring and tile.
Chapel
If funds are sufficient we would like to
construct a chapel that could be used for
adoration and personal prayer.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
