Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
In 1927, a handful of families embarked on a historic effort – the founding Our Lady of Guadalupe.
As we celebrate the sacrifices of our founders, we realize that it is now time for us to build upon the foundations they have entrusted to us. We have been blessed by God to grow from a small faith community into a welcoming church for many. We have built a strong tradition of worship that makes us a vibrant, active, and dynamic place for people of all ages to grow in faith, serve others, and share the Good News of Jesus as we connect with Christ, one another, and those in need.
Today, we begin an ambitious effort and ask God to bless our capital campaign entitled Called to Renew. This campaign will allow us to meet the needs of our parishioners as well as create warm and inviting spaces for us to continue to gather, worship, and socialize.
The goal for our campaign is $465,000, of which 50% will be used to address the needs outline above. We also get to keep 100% of any funds collected above the goal.
To reach this goal, we are asking every parish family to make a gift from the heart; and, if I’m asking you to make this sacrifice, then I, as your pastor, a fellow parishioner, will also make a sacrificial pledge myself. Before you decide on the amount of your gift, please prayerfully consider the generosity that God has shown you, and the importance of the mission we have been given.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Parish Hall
The roof on the Hall is past its useful life expectancy. From time to time, we experience leaks. Up until now we have made do by patching up sections. We can no longer put off the inevitable. We will replace the roof which will protect the buildings from further damage and ensure a safe environment around our Church. We will also perform other general maintenance, repairs and improvements of the hall to continue to foster a welcoming space for our community.
School
The roof of the school is also past its life expectancy. We will replace the roof to prevent further damage to the buildings and ensure a safe environment in the school. The windows in the school have become a safety issue. We will replace the pop-out screens with more secure windows, that will also provide much needed insulation for the school. We will continue to work on general repairs and improvements in the school to enhance the learning environment.
Current Renovations
Our Dominican Sisters serve our community through their work, presence and prayer. Their convent home across from our parish has been in use since 1965 and is in great need of repairs, especially the pipes and the roof of the garage. Proceeds from the campaign will be used to completely redo the plumbing in the convent and bring it up to current construction standards. We will also install a new roof and support beams on the convent garage as well as other general maintenance, repairs and improvements. This will ensure a better home for our Sisters and support them in their ministry.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
