Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
Archbishop Gomez has called us all to a period of renewal — a renewal of our resources and a spiritual renewal. I am pleased to announce the launch of our parish’s Called to Renew campaign. This historic effort will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, including ours, and strengthen essential ministries and programs that affect us all.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our goal is $380,000, of which 50 percent will remain at our parish. We will also retain 100 percent of our funds over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $ 190,000 to address our own needs.
While our goal is above and beyond what we usually raise for Epiphany, our community is worthy of this incredible investment. Future generations will see this dedication to our parish’s legacy as an example to follow.
Epiphany has a rich history in South El Monte. Called to Renew will ensure we can continue to be vital in our community. Details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds are on the following page.
Please take a moment to prayerfully discern how you can most generously support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a five-year pledge, which will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal. This is a beautiful parish, and like the magi in the Epiphany story who share their treasures, our parish has always worked together to share the best of who we are. I know you will do whatever you can to make this campaign a success.
We entrust this campaign to the intercessions of our Blessed Mother.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Air Conditioning & Fans
In the summer months, the temperature in the Church can surge to unbearable heat. Currently, we have three or four ineffective air conditioning systems that are insufficient to cool our Church, each of which needs to be turned on at least one hour before service to impact the temperature. As most people know, once our Church gets hot, our systems are unable to cool it down. With your support of Called to Renew, we will install a new HVAC system and add fans to circulate the air to help moderate the temperature to make our worship experience more comfortable.
Old Rear Restrooms
The old restrooms between Room E and the Michael Hunt room are past their useful life expectancy. They are old, unattractive, and riddled with problems, such as toilets and urinals often backing up or water running without control. When operable, these restrooms are utilized by our parish groups and ministries and attendees of large events hosted on the patio. We will gut the old restrooms, repair damaged plumbing, and replace the fixtures and furniture.
Stained Glass Windows
The stained-glass windows in the Church honor the founding families who helped build our parish and illuminate our worship space by allowing the beauty of sunlight to come inside. The windows have aged and do not close properly, attributing to energy loss when the HVAC system is turned on. We will restore the beauty and luster of our Church by repairing the stained-glass windows.
Sound System
During Mass, we celebrate the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Our old sound system makes it difficult to hear parts of the Mass, and the music is distorted due to the inferior quality of our sound system. At other times, we participate in the Mass while listening to some radio station in the background. To improve the sound quality in our Church, we will install a new sound system.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
