Our community is excited to participate alongside all parishes, missions and Catholic centers in the Archdiocese to strengthen and renew our Church for the future. Please continue reading to learn how this campaign will benefit us.
It is with heartfelt gratitude that I announce the launch of our parish capital
campaign in partnership with the Archdiocese’s Called to Renew effort. This
campaign will provide much-needed funding for parishes throughout the
Archdiocese, including Dolores Mission Church.
Each parish has been given a goal for the campaign. Our parish’s goal is
$175,000. Fifty percent of all funds we raise up to goal will stay with our parish,
and if we go over goal, 100 percent of the funds we collect will remain at
Dolores Mission. That means we will keep $87,500 to address our own needs if
we work together to meet our goal.
Dolores Mission has a rich history of service in Boyle Heights. Called to Renew
will allow us to continue to be a vital presence in our community. You will find
details about how we plan to use our share of campaign funds on the following
page.
As your pastor, I invite you to take a moment in prayer to discern how best you
can support this campaign. I also encourage you to consider making a pledge
for a five-year period. This will allow us the best opportunity to reach our goal.
This is a wonderful parish and faith community, and it is an honor to walk in
kinship with our parishioners. I know that if we all do what we can, together we
will make this campaign a great success.
We entrust this campaign to the intercessions of Our Blessed Mother, St.
Ignatius of Loyola, and St. Oscar Romero.
Pledged over 5 years for the Called to Renew Campaign.

Parish Needs
Church Pews & Kneelers
Our church pews and kneelers
have served us well but need to be
replaced. After years of use, many
pews are cracked and some kneelers
are broken. New pews and kneelers
will provide a more comfortable
worship experience.
Youth Ministry
One of the most vulnerable groups
in our community is our youth. With
additional staff, our parish will be
able to reach out to, support, and
create essential faith formation
opportunities for our parish’s
young people.
Church Renovations
Our church restrooms, parish hall, and parish offices are showing their age. We will
renovate the church restrooms, improve the parish office reception area, and repaint the
parish hall.
A Bold Plan of Renewal
We — the Catholic faithful — are the agents of renewal for Church and society. I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside clergy and parishioners in strengthening our parishes and ministries, the heart of our Archdiocese.
