From the Pastor

Dear Friends in Christ,

In 1923, a small group of families sacrificed themselves to establish a parish in our area, thus beginning the existence of our Ascension parish. In 1945, Ascension parish was established on our present site. In 1965, our church that we have now was built.

By the grace of God, we have grown from a small community of faith to a parish that now welcomes almost 1,500 families. We have created a vibrant, active, and dynamic place for people of all ages to grow in their faith, serve others, and share the Good News as they connect with Christ, with others, and with those most in need.

Back then, our founders of the parish sacrificed a lot to raise this beautiful temple and its rectory. Today, we are enjoying the fruits of their sacrifices, but we must take care and maintain that which they have sacrificed for us so that we can also leave this legacy to our generations to come.

Today we launched the Called to Renew campaign together with the parishes of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. We ask God to bless this ambitious effort. Our campaign will allow us to address the needs of Ascension, ensuring that future generations of parishioners can continue to meet, worship, and create lasting friendships.

Our campaign goal is $425,000, of which fifty percent of this goal will remain in our parish to address the needs detailed on the next page.

We will also receive one hundred percent of the funds raised over our goal. If our campaign is successful, we will receive a minimum of $212,500 to address our needs.

I ask you, and all members of our parish, to make a gift from the Heart. As your administrator and guide, I will also make a promise of faith. Before determining your faith promise, prayerfully consider the generosity God has shown you, the importance of the mission given to us at Ascension.
