Dear Friends in Christ,

St. Gabriel Korean Catholic Center is a very meaningful place for us. When we see the history of this community, the immigrants founded this community, and it is like a home for us. As the Holy Spirit moves forward always, He helped us to move forward, and He continuously leads us to be a better community. Also, God sent me, an unworthy servant, to this community to form the community of Intentional Disciples of Jesus Christ; this is my vocation and responsibility.

Under the Leadership of our shepherd, Archbishop Gomez, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is going through a period of renewal, both spiritually and financially.  All churches in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles are participating in the Called to Renew campaign.  As St. Gabriel Korean Catholic Center is part of the Church in Los Angeles, the Archbishop is asking for our support in joining this campaign.  It will raise funds needed for our church and the Archdiocese. Our parish goal is $540,000 which will be collected over the next five years. Half of that money will go to our parish; anything we raise beyond that, we will be able to use for our parish as well.

This campaign is an opportunity for us to become Intentional Disciples of Jesus Christ. We hear our call from the successor of Jesus’ Apostle, Archbishop Gomez; by responding to this call, and participating in the campaign, we share Jesus’ Redemptive Mission.  It is the duty of the parishioners of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and it is the way we become more like Intentional Disciples of Jesus Christ.

The raised funds will be used for the interior of the church and for the kitchen in the new hall. By doing these renovations, our church will be able to serve people more efficiently. Thus, this campaign is for our future generations, so that they also can become Intentional Disciples of Jesus.

Through this campaign, I pray that our community becomes more united. Also, I ask for your prayers and sacrifices for the success of this campaign.
